Welcome to Ludlow Church of England School Specialist Technology & Sports College

An 11-16 community school, we are located in the beautiful county of Shropshire. We consider ourselves to be a very special and unique school in terms of what we offer to our students and the local community. This is due to being an inclusive Specialist Technology and Sports College, as well as having a church foundation. The school prides itself on the great opportunities we offer our students within and outside the normal curriculum. The school curriculum itself is broad, balanced, and offers students the courses and qualifications that are respected by employers and the local community- in effect, real qualifications!  We are the top performing secondary school in south Shropshire when compared to the nationally prescribed targets that would place a school in the top 25% of similar schools.  We have achieved this without resorting to filling the timetable with "soft options" that raise school points scores but do not challenge students intellectually either.

The school has been rewarded for its efforts by being awarded Most Improved School status four times in the past six years. We are proud of what we have achieved, but we do want to push on still further. Our core and option subjects are strong, and the specialist subjects of technology and sport contribute to the whole school ethos and success. We pride ourselves on the quantity and quality of after-school activities we are able to offer in a wide variety of areas. We provide a great amount of support in all other curriculum areas as part of an enrichment programme to ensure all students are able to excel in their preferred area of interest. The school may need to share information, as we work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a pupil's welfare. Our aim is to cater for all students and to prepare them for the next stage in their lives.

We believe that the total educational experience of our students is vitally important to ensure that when they leave us they have the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and attributes to succeed in whichever area they wish.
