ICT

The course to be followed is OCR Nationals Level 2 in Information and Communication Technology. This is a double award and should lead to a 2 GCSE equivalence. This course consists of 6 units:

Unit 1 ICT Skills for Business

Unit 2 Design and Produce Multimedia Products

Unit 3 Webpage Creation

Unit 4 Creating Video

Unit 5 Creating Computer Graphics

Unit 6 Creating Animation for the WWW using ICT

There are three levels of accreditation: Pass (grade C equivalence), Merit (grade B equivalence) and Distinction (grade A equivalence).

The course is 100% coursework assessed. Unit 1 is compulsory and students must pass in order to continue with the qualification. Students are currently working through Unit 1 in Year 9 with the aim that it is completed within that academic year.

Students following the compulsory ICT route and not selecting ICT as an option choice will achieve at least ½ GCSE equivalence by the end of year 10.
