All mathematics GCSE specifications changed from September 2010. After a great deal of thought we have decided to change to the Edexcel exam board and their Linear specification. This means that students will be examined at the end of their course rather than at three stages during the two years.

Overview of assessment:

Two written papers:             Each contributes 50% of the final grade.

                                         Each paper is 1 hour 45 mins.

                                         One non calculator paper and one calculator paper.

Tiered papers:                    Foundation Tier grades c – G available.

                                        Higher Tier grades A* - D available (E allowed)
