Reception
Reception is available from 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am – 4.00pm on a Friday.
Switchboards
The school switchboard has a 24 hour answering service which enables parents and carers to leave messages at any time. Please listen carefully to the options when you call the school to ensure your message can be dealt with quickly.
Telephones
If your child has a mobile phone, please ensure there is sufficient credit to enable them to make calls. If your child does not have a mobile but needs to make an urgent call, they may go to Reception to use the phone.
Mobile Phones
Due to common sense, and in the interest of the safety of students to and from school, mobile phones are allowed on site. They are the responsibility of the student. Mobile phones can only be used at break and lunchtimes. They must be switched off and placed in bags from 8.50am. We wish parents to be aware that if the phone has internet connections and unsuitable or illegal material is downloaded, or exchanged, we may involve the Police.
If a phone is used or answered during lesson times, the school reserves the right to keep the phone until the end of the school day. Repetition of such an incident could result in a two-week phone ban. Please see our policy on the 'Use of Mobile Phones' for full details.
Parents are strongly recommended to take out insurance on any expensive item that a student brings into school. The school are unable to guarantee the safekeeping of items, such as mobile phones, and it is suggested that a cheaper mobile phone is used.
The school has no insurance for loss, damage or theft of personal items in school.
