Former Ludlow School Student: Andrew Price

We are delighted to announce that Andrew Price has been chosen as Shrewsbury Town Foundation’s Community Captain as part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign. He is one of 93 Community Captains nominated this season for the positive impact they have had in their local area. Andrew is the Foundation’s Inclusion and Health & Wellbeing Manager and was presented with the award at half time during Saturday’s game against Crewe Alexandra.

He oversees all the Inclusion programmes including the disability provision and Premier League Kicks, which is the Premier League funded provision for young people aged 8-18.

Andrew’s journey began when he volunteered for the Foundation at the age of 14.

He continued to volunteer for many years and eventually joined the degree course in partnership with the University of South Wales and the EFL Trust. Throughout the degree, he gained extensive experience across the programmes at the Foundation before taking on a full-time role once qualified.

When asked about his favourite thing about the role, he said: “It’s the same answer all the time. It’s just seeing the difference and the smiles on people’s faces on a day-to-day basis – I don’t think anything can beat that. The opportunity to make a difference in the community is the best part about it.”
