I was sporty in school and captained the rugby team and swam at National standard. I wasn’t very academic, but I did enjoy the social and sporting aspects of school. Joining Clubs helped me to make friends. I left with all my GCSEs but unfortunately, I didn’t achieve the grade I really needed in Maths.
I went to Ludlow College and resat my GCSE Maths and I passed. As well as my retake, I chose to study Level 2 BTEC Sport because the course focused more on my practical ability, and this is where my strengths lie. Whist at college, I gained my National Lifeguarding certificate and Swim England Swimming Teacher qualifications through Teme Leisure.
I then worked for four years at Teme Leisure as a Lifeguard, a Swimming Teacher and Duty Manager, gaining skills such as working with the public, First Aid, teaching and coaching and Pool Plant Operations.
In May 2025, I joined The Royal Marine Commando Unit in Lympstone, Exeter, and I am currently training to be a Royal Marine Commando, specialising in Border Force.
